Remarks:
-
This painting and Alpha (cat. no. 335) are the only two Unfurleds stretched and exhibited during the artist’s lifetime. His use of transliterations of letters from the Greek alphabet for their titles instituted a practice continued by his estate for the titling of all other paintings from the Unfurled series.
