Remarks:

This was the first of the narrow rivulet Unfurled paintings to be stretched for exhibition. The decision to stretch the canvas as wide as possible made visible along the left and right edges the irregularities at the origin of each color rivulet. It was later decided to stretch all similar paintings following the marks of the stretcher used by Louis when he painted the Unfurleds, thus eliminating the drips and runs along the edges.
